The seminar managed to gather 43 participants from Malaysia\u2019s CIP community in both the public and private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"932\" height=\"594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_4654.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_4654.jpg 932w, https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_4654-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_4654-768x489.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 932px) 100vw, 932px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Speakers for this seminar were from Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) Singapore, Deakin University Australia, Naval Crime Investigation Service (NCIS), Royal Malaysia Police, Chief Government Security Office (CGSO), Cybersecurity Malaysia, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (UN CTED), ISIS Malaysia and SEARCCT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The seminar gave four main messages to the participants. Namely, critical infrastructures remain an attractive target to terrorists particularly if located at public places, the importance of being prepared for any possibility, close cooperation among Critical Infrastructure sectors is vital, and the need for the CIP community\u2019s support for SEARCCT to enhance future programmes on this subject further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The highlight of the seminar was the group discussion, and participants gave their views on the challenges they face, as well as good recommendations provided on improving CIP in Malaysia.
