This is SEARCCT\u2019s first programme in collaboration with the Department\nof Chemistry Malaysia. A total of 18 officers from the Department of Chemistry\nMalaysia headquarters and Department of Chemistry Malaysia, Melaka Branch\nattended the five day programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"424\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-FTRP-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-910\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-FTRP-1.jpg 635w, https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-FTRP-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of the programme were to equip participants\nwith the knowledge and understanding on trends adopted by terrorists utilising\nCBRNe agents and to prepare first responders in planning and responding to\nCBRNe threats and incidents. Speakers who facilitated this workshop were\nSEARCCT\u2019s established local trainers from the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP),\nMinistry of Health, Malaysia Armed Forces, Chemistry Department of Malaysia,\nFire and Rescue Department of Malaysia and Atomic Energy Licensing Board\n(AELB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-FTRP-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-911\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants were exposed to various CBRNe subjects, ranging\nfrom the basics of CBRNe, modes of dispersal, managing post-attack situations\nto emergency decontamination. They were also given the opportunity to\nfamiliarise themselves with detection equipment for CBRNe agents, which enabled\nthem to have hands-on experience. Through the demonstration exercises,\nparticipants were also briefed on coordination, security procedures, command\nand control, and communication in handling mass casualties in the event of\nCBRNe incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-FTRP-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-912\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the workshop was a beneficial platform for\nparticipants to obtain theoretical knowledge on CBRNe and its application\nthrough practice.
