Tuan\nHaji Hilmi Hasan, General Manager of Human Capital Department KTMB, officiated\nthe one-day seminar alongside the Deputy Director General of SEARCCT, Ms.\nMazita Marzuki. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CTAP-KTMB-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-918\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was organised upon the request by KTMB to equip\nthe participants at the executive level with the knowledge and understanding on\nthe subject of terrorism, counter-terrorism and related issues. Local subject\nmatter experts from SEARCCT, the Office of the Chief Government Security\nOfficer (CGSO), the Royal Malaysia Police and Malaysian National Security\nCouncil (MKN) were invited to speak on issues related to the security and\nsafety of the transportation sector to make the seminar more stimulating and\nbeneficial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CTAP-KTMB-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-919\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was conducted in two panel sessions. In the\nfirst session, it enable participants to understand and be familiar with an\noutline of key violent extremist groups in Malaysia. It also touched on the\nnetwork apparatus of the terrorist group in Malaysia and the region. In\naddition, the whole session were able to create awareness among the\nparticipants on the real threat of terrorism and participants were able to\nunderstand the nature of mechanisms used by terrorist to sustain their\nconnections. It is hopeful that the sessions would enhance their prevention and\npreparedness mechanisms in deterring possible terrorist threats to KTMB\nstations and infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CTAP-KTMB-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-920\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CTAP-KTMB-3.jpg 448w, https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CTAP-KTMB-3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the workshop was a beneficial platform for\nparticipants to obtain knowledge on terrorism as well as to be aware of the\nreal threat terrorism poses not only to KTMB but detrimental to the\ninfrastructure of the country.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEARCCT, in collaboration with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), successfully organised the \u201cCounter-Terrorism Awareness Programme for KTMB Senior Executives\u201d at the Malaysian Railway Academy (MYRA), Batu Gajah, Perak on 5th April 2018.
