In\nthis edition, the workshop was attended by 24 participants, consisting of staff\nand officers from APM of the peninsular region. DDG 2 of SEARCCT, Puan Mazita\nMarzuki, officiated the 3-day programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-Bangi-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-926\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-Bangi-1.jpg 635w, https:\/\/staging.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-Bangi-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the aim to provide participants with the knowledge and\nunderstanding on the trends adopted by terrorists utilising CBRNE agents and to\nprepare the first responders to plan and respond to CBRNE treats and incidents,\nSEARCCT\u2019s established local trainers were engaged from the Royal Malaysia\nPolice, Ministry of Health, Malaysia Armed Force, Chemistry Department and\nAtomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was conducted in a manner to brief participants\non various CBRNE subjects that provided valuable insights and to familiarise\nthemselves with detection equipment for CBRNE agents. This two-fold module\nformat also enabled participants to have a substantial amount of hands-on\nexperience that added value to the theoretical lectures scheduled. This was\ncoupled with demonstration exercises that helped to highlight the need for a\nholistic response mechanism, in the event of a possible incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-Bangi-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-927\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback from participants, include their appreciation for\nthe speakers who were knowledgeable and interesting in their presentations on\ntechnical topics and for establishing such a platform for the participants to\nnetwork with other agencies in exchanging and sharing information pertaining to\nCBRNE issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"635\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/www.searcct.gov.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/CBRNE-Bangi-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-928\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>YBhg. Datuk Mohamed Alwi, the Head of the Emergency\nDepartment of Hospital Selayang, also encouraged participants to be proactive\nin conducting in-house training on CBRNE response at their respective\nworkplace, with the speakers, who were very welcoming of such collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the workshop was a success with the participants\nlooking forward to learn more of CBRNE and are expecting similar workshops\norganised by SEARCCT.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>APM), successfully co-hosted the \u201cChemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) First Responder Training Programme\u201d at Akademi Latihan Pertahanan Awam (ALPHA), Bangi from 5 to 8 September 2017.
