The Roundtable Technical Meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to address challenges, share insights, and strategize collaborative solutions regarding FTFs and their associated issues. With participation from mid- to high level representatives from law enforcement, intelligence services, and relevant government ministries and agencies, the meeting facilitated to strengthen Malaysia\u2019s capacities and policies in handling the imminent challenges posed by FTFs, contributing to regional and global security effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key discussions encompassed procedures for identifying, investigating, and preventing FTF activities, including terrorism financing, enhancing data sharing among agencies, policy frameworks, deradicalization and rehabilitation initiatives, international cooperation, and strategies for reintegrating children returning from conflict zones. The meeting benefited 21 participants from Malaysian government agencies involved in intelligence gathering, FTF disruption, investigation, and policy formulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and Mrs. Kate Wiencke, First Secretary at the Australian High Commission, actively contributed to the opening speeches. They advocated for increased support for context-specific capacity building in both countries and stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Australian and Malaysian Governments. The roundtable technical meeting concluded with a photo session and dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
