MEETING BETWEEN THE SOUTHEAST ASIA REGIONAL CENTRE FOR COUNTER-TERRORISM (SEARCCT) AND THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION (JPT)

On 10 June 2025, the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism
(SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by YBhg. Datin Paduka Nur Ashikin Binti Mohd Taib, Director-General, held a meeting with the Department of Higher
Education (JPT) at the Ministry of Higher Education in Putrajaya. The session was
chaired by YBrs. Prof. Dr. Zainal Amin bin Ayub, Deputy Director-General of Higher Education (Academic and Research).

The discussion centred on strengthening collaboration between SEARCCT and JPT in the areas of counter-terrorism education, research, capacity building and knowledge-sharing.

This meeting underscores SEARCCT’s ongoing commitment to building strategic
partnerships with Malaysia’s higher education sector, enhancing research excellence, and supporting capacity-building initiatives in counter-terrorism and the prevention and countering of violent extremism (PCVE).
