The Terrorism 101 Workshop, jointly organized by the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT),was successfully conducted on 8-9 December 2025, in Hilton Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The programme gathered 30 enforcement officers from various divisions that represent Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). participants and served as a platform to enhance awareness on terrorism-related issues, national security challenges, and Malaysia’s evolving approaches to countering violent extremism.

The opening remark graced by Supt.Sitimaizatulakmal binti Ismail, Director Planning & Training of SEARCCT, who emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building for enforcement officers.
The workshop featured four experienced speakers from government and security agencies who delivered structured sessions on the threat of terrorism, Malaysia’s current security landscape, Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE), and the use of the internet by terrorist networks. The success of this workshop provides an opportunity for future initiatives, including a dedicated P/CVE workshop, expansion to other agencies.
An interactive Table-Top Exercise (TTX) enabled participants to apply knowledge gained through case-based group discussions, strengthening critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
