CERDAS 3.0 : Safeguarding the Information Space: Preventive Approaches to Generative AI Risks

11-13 February 2026, Port Dickson – The Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia, successfully conducted the CERDAS 3.0 Programme, a three-day capacity-building initiative focusing on the implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on governance, institutional decision-making and preventive communication in the contemporary information environment. The programme was attended by 30 government officials.

CERDAS 3.0 reflects SEARCCT’s continued commitment to advancing professional capacity and promoting principled, transparent and accountable approaches to emerging digital challenges. The programme also strengthened inter-agency understanding and fostered practical insights on the development of guardrails for responsible AI use, particularly in areas related to security, public communication and prevention.

SEARCCT remains dedicated to working closely with national, regional and international partners in building institutional resilience and sustaining public confidence in the age of artificial intelligence.
